Can we try to limit the cross-posting of garbage Gawker articles that lionize petulant man-children who think writing a profanity-laced message on a speeding ticket is acceptable adult behavior?
Thanks.

He probably has no choice in the matter. That sort of junk brings pageviews, and in this business it’s all about pageviews. Nick Denton says “crosspost”, the editors & authors say “How much?”, or they get the boot.

I have noticed that there have been more cross posts from oppo to fp and even more from other main sites.

I don’t agree with what he did but that definitely wasn’t aggravated harassment.

I know, it just bugs me. Not one person commenting on that article said that maybe the guy should grow up and not act like a child.

I agree, he has the right to do that. Just pisses me off that there are adults who think that it's acceptable.

Because we all wish we could do it, on one level or another. Most people get angry when they get tickets, and so to see something like this, well, we feel good vicariously through the dude.

I’ve noticed that too. I think Longbow said this and its fitting.
“Opposite Lock, Tomorrow’s Jalopnik Today!”.

That’s why I have this Chrome extension to block the worst Gawker authors - Biddle, and the like. Works on reposts too.

It was all worth it to me for this comment:

Very true. And the Gamecat article is almost legendary at this point.

We all have the freedom to ignore and not click. It seems like people are way too thin skinned lately.
I didn’t need to see Steve McQueen’s junk on the FP a few years ago but Hardigree tossed it up there. And there was no outrage..

I really hope he got something out of that!

I just picked up the Swearing Substitution extension for Chrome. Justin’s headline became:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Hilarious!

Except when the foul language is displayed in the headline, the summary, and the image. I’d really like to share Jalopnik with my kids, but I can’t. Every day something that would be rated R appears in the feed.
